My dad and I have decided to take on the Dam tot Dam 10 miles (16km) in Amsterdam this September in aid of Right to Play, a fantastic charity whose mission it is to use sport and play to educate and empower children and youth to overcome the effects of poverty, conflict and disease in disadvantaged communities. We are running as part of team Prologis and together we are trying to raise as much as we can for this fantastic charity!!!
Both my father and I have faced some challenging times over the last few years and have we have both undergone major operations- my dad having major surgery on his gut and myself having major lung surgery last year and as a result losing half of my right lung.
Despite all this we have both always loved sport, especially running, and are determined to raise money for to ensure that children, whatever their background, are able to share this passion.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated...after all we are running on 1.5 lungs and hardly any guts...but an awful lot of courage! :)
Many thanks,
Laura (and Peter - my dad)
