A good education has always been a given for us as children in the Netherlands. For many teenage girls in Kenya this is not the case. The girls stay at home and work because this is what tradition dictates.
At Waterland Private Equity Investments we know how important knowledge is to succeed in life. For girls too, which is why we have decided to help SUKAISA foundation by improving the facilities at St. Theresa's GIRLS Secondary School in Kimilili, Kenya.
In 1996 a group of parents set up a school in Kimilili, West-Kenya, because they believed that girls also had a right to decent secondary education. Theresa's Secondary School has become a concept.
Five years ago, like a blessing, Jane Wasike the perfect head mistress became the head of the school, and Jane has ambitious plans for her pupils. Her tireless efforts have paid off and girls from far and wide are coming forth. However the school is bursting at the seams. Extra facilities are urgently required. We can help to build 4 extra classrooms, toilets and an administrative area.
How? By helping us to achieve our collection target. On the 22nd September we will be participating in the Dam to Dam run 2013 Charity with 6 runners' and we, in team Waterland, will each run 16 km to raise the necessary 30.000 euro for this worthy project.
It is guaranteed that 100% of all donations will be spent directly on the project. It would be fantastic if you could help to achieve this. Together we should be able to do it!
Donations will be processed by Alvarum.
It is very easy and 100% safe.
Many thanks for your help!
