Bonjour,
I have decided to take part in (and try to complete) the Etape du Tour this year on behalf of the Pasteur Institute, a non-profit foundation which contributes to the prevention and treatment of disease, through research, education, and public health activities.
The Etape 2013 is a 130km cycle race over one of the toughest mountain stages of this year's Tour de France (
http://www.letapedutour.com/ET1/us/the-route.html). The route, which will form the 20th stage of the Tour, is a loop, departing from Annecy on the 7th July and climbing to the finish at Le Semnoz (1655m), a small ski resort above the Lac d'Annecy.
The furthest I have ever cycled is probably from Bristol to Bath ( about 18km) and the highest I have ever climbed on a bike is probably up to the Downs from my house. On top of this, my 6' 7" frame is certainly not built for such endeavours! I am therefore expecting it to be a big, and very painful, challenge and would be very grateful if you could help me reach my fundraising target of 800euros (about £690).
Any donation would be gratefully received!
Donations are processed through Alvarum. It is very easy and 100% secure.
Thank you very much for your help!
