This year I'm running Paris marathon for a cause and that's raising money for "Imagine for Margo". Let me tell you why I'm doing this.
Margaux died on June 7th, 2010 of an aggressive brain tumor. She was 14 years old. For 16 months, she fought her cancer with remarkable courage. She kept her radiant smile and remained more concerned about others than she was about herself.
In March 2009, Margaux initiated a fund raising campaign which generated an immense outpouring of generosity and solidarity. 103 000 Euros was given to the pediatric team at the Institute of cancer research Gustave Roussy in Villejuif enabling them to finalize their study of high grade gliomas.
"Go, Fight, Win" is the message of life from Margaux that was found in her exercise books after her death.
Childhood cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children with 1 child in 440 diagnosed before the age of 15. These numbers have been increasing by 1% to 2% a year for the past 30 years. With 60 different types, these cancers remain ”rare diseases” so research for new treatments is not financially profitable for pharmaceutical companies.
In November 2011, "Imagine for Margo-children without cancer" was created to pursue Margo's initiative by leading activities to increase awareness and collect funds in support of European research on specific, innovative and more effective treatments for children affected by cancer.
So that one day, we can “Imagine” a world of "children without cancer".
I really think that Imagine for Margo are doing a great job and I have decided to raise funds to help them perform their work. I would greatly appreciate if you could help me in my fundraising efforts by making a donation to Imagine for Margo or bringing awareness around my fundraising efforts.
Please donate : There are no small donations!
Donations are processed through Alvarum.
It is very easy and 100% secure.
Thank you for your help!
