Hi All,
Firstly thank you for making it this far and considering to sponsor me. As my friend Pete wrote (not so eloquently) on our team page, I’m 35 and realising its about time i stepped up and started to fight a little more for the things i believe in.
So, i have decided to go all or nothing and entered one of the hardest non professional bike races in the world. As well as training to cycle up a mountain, I also have to lose approx 3 stone in the process and it’s going to be tough.
What’s my motivation, well last year i watched my Grandmother Jean Violet Deyoung take on a battle harder than any i could choose as she bravely thought aggressive Cancer. Throughout this entire ordeal, i never once remember not seeing that wonderful smile that i had always seen as a child as she greeted us. Sadly this incredible woman lost her battle in August last year and will always be forever missed.
So I have decided to take this challenge in the name of Cancer Research and ask you all to be so kind as to give as much as possible to help in the fight for a cure for Cancer.
My minimum target to gain entry to the event is 800 Euros but i hope to raise through your kind charity as much as possible and in return i promise to continue to dedicate myself completely to making my grandmother and you all proud and to help fight cancer.
A little update, as i write this i am 3 weeks into my training and have successfully dropped a stone and completed a number of bike rides around Box hill of 60KM.
Still along way to go but you can see I’m trying hard, so please reach deep and join me.
Donations are processed through Alvarum.
It is very easy and 100% secure.
Thank you for your help!
