On 24th September, I'll be taking part in the “Enfants Sans Cancer” (“Children Without Cancer”) race organised by the French charity Imagine for Margo, with the aim of raising at least 500€.
This charity is very close to my heart, with many family members and friends taking part every year as a way of remembering the children, siblings, nephews, nieces, and cousins that they've lost to cancer (my cousin Inès is in the middle of the picture and would be 21 today).
Paediatric cancers differ biologically from adult cancers and therefore need their own research programs in order to find more targeted, effective treatments; research is expensive and finding a new treatment can take decades, which is why it's hard to see the immediate impact of a donation, but every bit of money raised through this charity goes towards research. Over the long-term, those scientific advances will culminate in improved survival rates.
If you have any money to spare, and I genuinely mean anything at all, I would be incredibly grateful!!
