Rare diseases are a cause that has become very personal to me. As a patient at Charité in Berlin, I have experienced firsthand how differently rare diseases can affect people's lives. While I am fortunate not to experience symptoms myself, my time in hospital has shown me the pain, uncertainty and challenges that many other patients face every day. That's why I am running the Paris Marathon on 18 April 2027 in support of Fondation Maladies Rares. I want to use this challenge to contribute to a cause that matters deeply to me and help support the important work being done for people affected by rare diseases.
