Every Child Deserves the Chance to Dream Growing up in South Jakarta, Indonesia, I was a child with a thousand dreams. I wanted to become a doctor, an architect, or even a painter. Like many children, I was curious about the world and excited to learn new things. I didn't yet understand the financial realities of life or how much my parents had to do to give me the opportunities I had. All I cared about was going to school, spending time with my friends, and discovering something new every day. As I grew older, I came to realise just how fortunate I was. My parents gave me the opportunity to pursue my education, including moving to the Netherlands to complete both my bachelor's and master's degrees. Today, I may not be a doctor, an architect, or a painter, but I have built a career in digital strategy. More importantly, I have come to understand that education is a privilege that can open doors, create possibilities, and change the course of a life. Not every child has the same opportunities I had. Across Southeast Asia, access to quality education remains a challenge for many children, particularly those in underserved and remote communities. Access to schools, learning materials, adequate facilities, a supportive learning environment, and proper nutrition can make a tremendous difference in a child's ability to learn and thrive. This is why I want to support Enfants du Mékong. I believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, to be curious, to discover their talents, and to dream about the person they might become. Every child deserves the chance to build a brighter future, regardless of where they were born or their family's financial circumstances. Why education? Why give to charity? Because knowledge opens doors. Every child deserves the chance to learn, ask questions, and explore the world around them. Because not every child is as fortunate as I was. I want to help create opportunities for children who might otherwise be left behind. Because every child deserves a childhood filled with possibility. Access to education, books, safe learning environments, and the support they need should not depend on where they live. Most importantly, because every child deserves the chance to chase their dreams. We may not know what they will become, but we can help give them the foundation to find out. I believe that knowledge and hope are two of the most powerful forces that move us forward. By supporting children's education, we are not simply helping them attend school; we are investing in their potential, their independence, and the future they can create for themselves.
