I truly believe in the incredible work of Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque, and this cause is very personal to me. I have been living with Type 1 diabetes for more than 30 years, and in September 2025, my life changed dramatically when I suffered a heart attack during a triathlon. Just a few days later, I underwent major heart surgery and received a triple coronary bypass. Since then, the road back has not always been easy. But step by step, I have returned to doing what I love: running. In April 2027, I hope to stand on the starting line of the Paris Marathon for the fifth time. This time, however, those 42.195 kilometres will mean much more to me. I want to run for Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque and help give children with serious heart conditions access to the life-saving surgery and medical care they need. Having experienced heart surgery myself, I know how much it can change a life. Running a marathon after everything that has happened to me is also my way of showing that a heart diagnosis does not necessarily mean giving up on the things that matter to you. To reach the starting line, I need your support. Every donation, no matter how small, brings me closer to my fundraising goal and, more importantly, helps Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque continue their work. If you cannot donate, sharing my fundraising page and telling others about it would mean just as much to me. Donations are processed securely through Alvarum. This will be my fifth Paris Marathon. Thank you to everyone who supports me on this journey. Every donation, every share and every message of encouragement means a lot to me. Sascha ❤️
