My name is Philippe Marco, and I’ve had epilepsy since I was 9. Despite having epilepsy, I competed as a water polo player at the highest level of American college sports. Balancing seizures, medication, and intense training wasn’t always easy, especially in an aquatic sport, but I learned to listen to my body and never give up. I'm running for the FFRE because, while epilepsy hasn't stopped me from competing, many people with the condition aren't so lucky. For some, their diagnosis keeps them from reaching their full potential in sport. I hope the research the FFRE funds will help give them that chance.
