Muriel Whitchurch — Portes Ouvertes

II discovered Open Doors/Portes Ouvertes when I went to university in 1968 and joined a prayer group for Eastern Europe. We had begun to hear about the difficulties facing Christians in that part of the world and also met people who had come to England to escape persecution.  Brother Andrew heard about the prayer group and kindly came to visit and encourage us.  Since then, after the breakup of the Soviet Union, the focus has shifted and expanded into many countries where Christians are marginalised. The work of Open Doors/Portes Ouventes is vital to many thousands of people who suffer simply because they want to follow Jesus.  Their visits, encouragement and practical help keeps churches alive in places where it's very hard to believe. This Tervuren Challenge is just a little gesture of support, which with the help of my friends and family will raise more funds for them to continue serving the persecuted church.  I would greatly appreciate if you could help me in my fundraising efforts by making a donation to Portes Ouvertes or bringing awareness around my fundraising efforts. There are no small donations. Donations are processed through Alvarum. It is very easy and 100% secure. Thank you for your help! Muriel Whitchurch
