En Français a la fin de cette page En español al final de esta pàgina The association Imagine for Margo - Children without Cancer, created in 2011, continues Margo's initiative by leading advocacy and fundraising to accelerate research in order to better understand and cure childhood cancer. MARGO'S COURAGEOUS FIGHT: Margo passed away on June 7, 2010 from an aggressive brain tumor. She was 14 years old. During her illness, she gathered 103,000 euros that were given to Gustave Roussy for research on her cancer. FIGHT against all the hard moments that will come to you. WIN accomplish the things you want, follow your dreams and always try to be a better person" Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children, in France and in Europe. It is the third cause of childrens death in the United States after motor crashes and firearm deaths. There are 60 types of children's cancers that are different from those found in adults, and as such cannot be treated in the same manner. Nevertheless, pediatric cancers are considered as rare diseases by the industrialists; this is why very few specific medication are developed for children with cancers. The association's goals: - Increase the investments dedicated to the research on pediatric cancer - Decrease the delays of opening times for clinical trials to enable ill children to access innovative and possibly more efficient treatments more rapidly. - Improve the European Pediatric Regulation to enable manufacturers to develop their anti-cancer molecules in pediatrics and not only in adult oncology. - Make children cancer a PRIORITY FOR ALL. I have chosen to help this association because I have 3 children and I don't want to lose them if one day they are confronted to this illness so I want to contribute to help find a cure.
