I’ve seen friends run marathons for charity, and that made me realize that a marathon is even more meaningful when you run for something bigger than yourself. Growing up in the Philippines, it was instilled in us the importance of giving back to our community. From a young age, we were involved in various charities, and to this day, supporting causes close to my heart remains a big part of who I am. There is no other place I’d choose to run my first marathon than Paris, the city where I learned to appreciate and love running. And there’s no other cause I’d choose to run for than La Ligue contre le cancer, a French nonprofit dedicated to cancer research, prevention, and supporting patients and their families. This one is personal. A couple of years ago, cancer was a battle my family faced firsthand. It was a battle that changed us, tested us, and taught us the true meaning of strength, hope, and courage. Now, I want to turn that experience into something meaningful, to run not only for my family, but for every person and family fighting this battle🤍 There are no small donations.
