Dear friends,
This March I'm running the Berliner half marathon. I've begun training: My goal < 2 hours. To make it more meaningful I've decided to run for the World Wildlife Fund and I'm asking you to consider helping me reach my fundraising goal by donating to the WWF.
The WWF is probably the most well-known species conservation organizations on earth. To read their own current strategy statement go to the link below:

The WWF is currently raising funds for projects to deter poaching which function by recruiting local people to patrol the land they know better than anyone else. The WWF focuses on preserving key species which they feel to be essential to the overall biodiversity and health of an area, whether it be Mountain Gorillas, Javan Rhinos or River Dolphins. Some of the species the WWF focuses on are deemed important because of their place on the food chain, top predators like Sharks, Polar Bears and Asian Big Cats, others have a symbolic or representative value, like Tigers, Pandas or Orangutans and others are commercially important such as Mohogany, Sturgeon or Salmon.
There are many organizations which do amazing work for conservation and the WWF is one of them. One thing which distinguishes the the WWF is its' long history and high profile which gives them a clout and reach which is important when it comes to dealing with governments, companies.
I think the WWF are worthy of your support and I've put my money where my mouth is by making the first donation.
If you have further questions regarding why I support the projects, please don't hesitate to ask!
Any contribution, a dollar or 5, will be very much appreciated. Whether you donate or not, if you feel like sharing on fb or twitter, please do!
The donations will be processed by the company Alvarum - simple and secure!
Thank you!
Ethan
