On Tour from Vienna to Berlin | GBI 2016

My 5th GBI adventure is waiting for me:
This year we will cycle from Vienna to my heimat Berlin!

What is GBI?
GBI = Global Biking Initiative and is a non profit organisation that started to organise charitable long distance bike events in 2008. In 2016 the 9th edition of GBI Europe will kick off in Vienna (29 May) and will arrive in Berlin (4 June).
About 350 cyclists from over 20 countries are expected to sign up for yet another amazing one-week trip through Europe. Teams consist of 10 cyclists and are often internationally mixed.
According to ability, pace and type of bike, teams cycle 760km or 980km. It is not a timed race. Enjoying the scenery and the challenge together while raising money for good causes are the major goals.

Who am I raising money for?
Two years ago my buddy of the last 4 GBIs, Melany, and I were looking specifically for an organisation encouraging Women/Girls to get education and economic independance. We liked Namasté Foundations approach and projects and saw a very inspired team at work to support women and children in Nepal.

I have followed Namasté's work since and remain impressed. A year after that terrible earthquake I believe that organisations such as Namasté are needed even more, supporting the Nepali community with structural committment and making a sustainable impact.
