It has been 11 years now since my son Robbie died at age 5 of anaplastic Wilm's tumor, and since then pediatric cancer continues to struggle to obtain the funding that it deserves, considering that more than 300,000 children each year are diagnosed with cancer.
While survival rates have climbed to 85% overall in the last 40 years, many rare cancers like Robbie's still have no effective treatment protocol.
For the 7th year now, therefore, I am running in the Imagine for Margo race to help collect funds for pediatric cancer research. This association was founded by a family at my school in memory of their daughter, who died of a brain tumor at age 14. Since 2011 it has contributed more than 14 million euros to support research and clinical trials on innovative therapies in France and Europe, most recently the genetic sequencing of tumors and immunotherapy. 100% of funds raised go directly to research.
I am excited to be running again with my daugher Melanie, whose fundraising page can be found here:
https://www.alvarum.com/melanieboalch7 and our dog Raffi, sidelined last year due to a paw injury. I would greatly appreciate if you could help me in my fundraising efforts by making a donation to Imagine for Margo; any amount is welcome.
Donations are processed through Alvarum. It is very easy and 100% secure.
Thank you for your support!
