Dear friends,
Recent humanitarian crises like the Ebola epidemic in West Africa, the earthquake in Nepal and the millions of refugees fleeing war and terrorism in Syria, Libya, South Sudan and elsewhere illustrate some of the biggest challenges the world is facing today.
To meet these challenges, NGOs like Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) provide medical care and emergency aid in poor countries ravaged by epidemics, armed conflict and natural disasters. Braving the risk of infection, harsh working conditions and many other perils, MSF aid workers heroically bring relief to those most in need.
I am proud to have the opportunity to make a modest contribution to this work by raising funds and running the Berlin Marathon for Médecins Sans Frontières. I would thus deeply appreciate your support in this effort.
