Wilma Stolk's fundraising page

by Wilma Stolk for Stichting AfroNed

I've had the privilege of being involved with Stichting AfroNed ever since its foundation in December 2006. I still believe the work we do is worthwhile and adds value to the lives of children and their parents in Sierra Leone.
I would like to dedicate our walk to the memory of Mrs Issata Jabbie Jalloh, the late mother of our founder and chairwoman Binta Jalloh who passed away in August this year. Mrs Jabbie contributed hugely to the work of Stichting AfroNed, leading the construction of the schools in Foronaya and Heremakono with vision, strength and determination. Without her, we would not have been able to do what we did. May her dear soul rest in peace.

We did it! We braved the rain, the cold and the mud and walked the 18km ACW2016.

Stichting AfroNed

Stichting AfroNed wants to improve the lives and perspectives of children in Sierra Leone. In this country in West Africa, going to school is not a given as it is in many other parts of the world. One of the reasons for this is that parents often cannot afford to pay school fees for their children. To overcome this hurdle, we facilitate primary education without asking for school fees. Our core activity is building schools in the Koinadugu district, Sierra Leone's largest district.
