No Ano passado nosso filho Christian, então com 12 anos, foi diagnosticado com LLA (Leucemia Linfoblástica Aguda) após uma cirurgia para a retirada de uma vértebra, onde o tumor havia se alojado, e a colocação de 12 parafusos, pinos e hastes na coluna. Desde então ele vem travando uma longa batalha onde a quimioterapia, as transfusões de sangue e plaquetas se tornaram uma rotina. As mudanças que os efeitos das drogas causaram no seu corpo de adolescente não abalaram a força e a coragem com que ele enfrenta a enfermidade inspira e enche de esperança toda a nossa família.
Esse ano nossa filha mais velha, Stephanie, vai deixar o ninho e se mudar para Berlim na Alemanha. Eu irei ajudá-la a se instalar na sua nova moradia e isso acontecerá próximo a data em que acontece a Maratona de Berlim. Unindo o útil ao agradável encontrei uma forma de participar e ajudar me engajando em um projeto que acredito possa ajudar a muitas crianças não só na Alemanha mas em todo o mundo.
O tratamento que o Christian está submetido segue um protocolo alemão que foi adotado em diversos lugares do mundo (BFM - Berlin Frankfurt Mainz). Alguns dos mais importantes remédios que ele tomou e toma são alemães ou foram desenvolvidos na Alemanha. Por isso quando soube da possibilidade de participar e angariar fundos para “Fundação Alemã para crianças com Cancer” preferi essa opção.

Last year, our 12-year-old son, Christian, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) following surgery to remove a vertebra where a tumor had lodged, and the placement of 12 screws, pins, and rods on the spine.
Since then he has been waging a long battle where chemotherapy, blood transfusions and platelets have become routine. The changes that the drugs have caused in his adolescent body did not shake the strength and the courage with which he faces the illness, inspiring our whole family with hope.
This year our eldest daughter, Stephanie, will leave the nest and move to Berlin in Germany. I will help her settle into her new home and this will happen close to the date of the Berlin Marathon. Joining the useful to the pleasant I found a way to participate and help me engage in a project that I believe can help many children not only in Germany but throughout the world.
Christian´s treatment follows a German protocol that has been adopted in several places of the world (BFM - Berlin Frankfurt Mainz). Some of the most important remedies he took and takes are German or were developed in Germany. So when I heard about the possibility of participating and raising funds for "German Foundation for Children with Cancer" I preferred this option.

Im vergangenen Jahr wurde unserer Sohn Christian (12 Jahre alt) nach eine Operation zur Entfernung von ein Tumor und die Platzierung von 12 Schrauben und Prothese, mit ALL (Akute Lymphatische Leukämie) diagnostiziert. Danach fing ein langer Kampf mit Chemotherapie, Blut und Blutplättchen Transfusionen an. Die Nebenwirkungen der Medikamente haben von seinen teenager-Körper viel verlangt aber er zeigte uns Mut und Kraft und inspirierte die ganze Familie weiter zu kämpfen und Hoffnung zu behalten. Viele Freunde, Gebete, Blutspendern hatten und haben noch eine wichtige Rolle für uns alle.
Nun hat unsere älteste Tochter, Stephanie, eine Ausbildungsstelle in Berlin bekommen und zieht aus. Um ihr bei dieser neue Phase zu unterstützen und gleichzeitig eine Herausforderung zu stellen die einen Sinn für uns hat, werde ich Ricardo, beim Berliner Marathon 2017 rennen um der Deutsche Kinderkrebsstiftung zu helfen.
Christians Behandlung folgt einen Protokoll BFM (Berlin/Frankfurt/Mainz) aus Deutschland und viele Medikamente die er schon bekommen hat und noch weiter nehmen muss, wurden auch dort entwickelt. So glauben wir, das diese Aktion Kinder der ganzen Welt hilft.
Wer helfen möchte, kann hier ein beliebigen Betrag spenden.
Allein die Tatsache Eure Aufmerksamkeit auf dieses Problem zu erwachen hat bereits geholfen.
