Because of the humanitarian aid they provide in war zones around the world, as well as the welcome and care they provide for refugees arriving daily in France, I have decided to run the 2016 Paris Half-Marathon for Médecins sans Frontières, aka Doctors without Borders (http://www.msf.org).
I started running in February 2012. Since then I have finished four marathons, seven half-marathons, three 18k, two 15k, and three 10k races. I don't run fast, so don't ask me my "best time". I run for fun (even if my knees don't always agree)!
In September 2015 I decided to put all of this restless energy to good use, and I will now only run to help raise money for worthwhile charities I support. "Médecins sans Frontières is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. MSF offers assistance to people based on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation."
I need a minimum of €500 to complete the fundraising challenge and participate in the March 6th Paris Half Marathon, but I have decided to go big and am pledging to raise €1000. I would greatly appreciate if you could help me in my fundraising efforts by making a donation to Médecins Sans Frontières or bringing awareness around my fundraising efforts. There are no small donations, and all of the funds go directly to MSF (I have already paid my race entry fee). Donations are processed through Alvarum. It is very easy and 100% secure.
Thank you for your help!Heather Stimmler-Hall
