HI,
I'm doing the Cork half marathon on June 1st with my brother-in-law John to raise funds for Joey, his 8 year old nephew.
Joey has an extremely rare form of Leukodystrophy, and is tube fed via a hole in his tummy. He cannot sit up, stand up, walk or talk, but despite all his challenges, he is a charmer and has a wicked sense of humour.
Colette and Matt, Joey's parents, work tirelessly on his behalf, and you can find out more about them all at www.tri4joe.com. (They live in France as the best care is available for Joe there, hence the French fundraising page!)
ELA do great work supporting children and adults with this illness, as well as supporting their families.
Please help me in my fundraising efforts by making a donation to ELA or bringing awareness around my fundraising efforts.

Association ELA
Fondée en 1992 par Guy ALBA, l'Association Européenne contre les Leucodystrophies (ELA) regroupe des familles qui se mobilisent pour vaincre ces maladies génétiques rares qui détruisent la myéline (la gaine des nerfs) du système nerveux. Chaque semaine en France, 3 à 6 enfants naissent atteints de ces pathologies qui engendrent des situations de handicap très lourd et entraînent progressivement la perte de toutes les fonctions vitales : l'ouïe, la vue, la locomotion.
